About
Community-driven digital archiving
Things+Time (T+T) is a Montreal-based digital archival service and platform that uses accessible 3D scanning technology to preserve ephemeral histories rooted in objects and spaces. Our tool enables users to create multimedia storytelling environments by adding annotations - including text, audio, video, images, map points, and links - to 3D objects.
Founded in July 2021 with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, T+T emerged in response to the rapid loss of cultural spaces and histories, exacerbated by the socioeconomic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our mission is to democratize archiving by making tools and processes more accessible—eliminating barriers such as expert knowledge, institutional gatekeeping, and high costs. By centering anti-racist, anti-colonial, and accessible practices, T+T empowers communities to create and maintain their own digital archives, preserving histories and shaping digital futures on their own terms.
